The symplectic geometry of collective motion

Gero John

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1982, vol. 114, issue 1, 315-317

Abstract: The symplectic structure of the manifolds of collective motions of systems of several particles is calculated using pull-back mappings from the phase space of the single particles. The symplectic manifolds provide physically relevant examples for investigation by the methods developed for geometric quantisation.
