Abstract:
Expressions have been obtained to describe the time correlation function for the spin Z-components in a paramagnet with the generalized Heisenberg interaction in a constant magnetic field H, applied along the z-axis. The spin system has been assumed to be nonequilibrium: there is an excessive initial polarization along the z-axis. It has been assumed that, at least for rather high H1 fields, the spin system approaches equilibrium in two stages, with the second, cross-relaxation stage proceeding at a rate exponentially dependent on the H1 magnitude. The results obtained are used to explain experiments on nuclear spin-locking in solids.
