Abstract:
Expressions have been obtained for the time correlation function for the spin z-components in a paramagnet with the generalized Heisenberg interaction in a pulsed external magnetic field applied along the z-axis. The nonequilibrium character of the spin system has been assumed: there is an excessive polarization along the z-axis. It has been shown that, in addition to relaxation processes occurring in the constant magnetic field, there arises the process of heating the spin system by the Fourier harmonics of the pulsed field. This results in the final state of the system being characterized by an infinite temperature. The results obtained are used to interpret experiments on multipulse nuclear magnetic resonance in solids.
