Mobility matrix for two spherical particles with hydrodynamic interaction

R. Schmitz and B.U. Felderhof

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1982, vol. 116, issue 1, 163-177

Abstract: We consider the solution of the creeping flow equations for two spherical particles immersed in an incompressible fluid. For an externally imposed linear flow and for given forces and torques we calculate the translational and rotational velocities of the particles and their symmetric force dipole moments. By the method of reflections we obtain explicit results for the mobility matrix relating the above quantities.
