Abstract:
For small differences in the refractive index between the Brownian particles and the solvent, the total scattered field strength may be represented as a series of single-, double- and higher-order scattered field strengths. Equations for these nth-order field strengths, scattered from a collection of Brownian particles with fixed orientations and positions are derived. Scattered intensities (up to second order) from a colloidal system containing identical spherical particles are then obtained by ensemble averaging over position coordinates, taking interaction into account.
