Sodium melting curve calculation

J.L. Pelissier

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1983, vol. 121, issue 1, 217-226

Abstract: In a previous paper, a fairly good ion-ion interaction was built in sodium, and the evident roughness of the usual variational models for melting curve determination purpose was pointed out. In the present work, using a full phonon spectrum calculation with an approximate perturbative anharmonic correction in solid phase and the well-known optimized cluster theory in liquid phase, good agreement with expetiment is achieved.
