Melting of aluminium: A model potential approach up to 2 megabars

J.L. Pélissier

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1984, vol. 128, issue 1, 363-370

Abstract: A theoretical method recently devised for sodium is applied in the present paper to the melting of aluminium. Rather good agreement with experimental points is obtained, in the quite limited pressure range where they are available. At high pressure, incipient fusion is predicted on the Hugoniot curve in the vicinity of 1.15 Mbar.
