Abstract:
Birth and death description of systems with non-local interactions is discussed. A simple example suggests that a macroscopic description for such systems may lead to results which are qualitatively different from the stochastic predictions. It is concluded that in the presence of non-local interactions, the fluctuations should play a fundamental role in the observed behavior.
