Abstract:
A Green's function method has been used to calculate the first-passage time for traveling a fixed distance in a two-dimensional space with periodic walls. The results are used to find the effective diffusion coefficient for the space. Application to three-dimensional spaces with cylindrical symmetry and periodic walls is outlined.
