Abstract:
The problem of the response of the intermediate valence impurity to an external probe is discussed. The spinless Anderson model for a single impurity extended by the coupling with the local boson mode and the external perturbation is considered. Regimes of energies for which a “single response” and “two responses” of the system are possible are found. The dependence of the shape of the core and the valence spectra on the electron-boson coupling λ is analysed. When λ increases, the main peak in the spectrum is shifted and plasmon satellites appear. The method is presented for calculations of the core and valence spectra for different temperatures.
