A generalized statistical N-level J-C model

Abstract: A quantum statistical model for the interaction of an N-level atom withN−1-mode radiation field is presented. The mean photon numbers and the average values of the atomic level occupations are studied by means of the operator equation of motion. It is found that decays and revivals exist. Application of this model to the investigation of ab N − 1-mode laser is also discussed.
