The Lorentz model for neutrinos: Exact solution

J. Piasecki and E. Wajnryb

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1985, vol. 133, issue 1, 291-301

Abstract: The initial value problem for the linear Boltzmann equation describing the propagation of neutrinos in a medium composed of nuclei is rigorously solved. The structure of the equation corresponds to the Lorentz model with an angle-dependent scattering cross-section. A method yielding the rigorous solution in the case of an arbitrary angular dependence of the cross-section is described.
