Renormalisation group study of the (2+1) dimensional Potts model

F. Igloi and C. Vanderzande

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1986, vol. 135, issue 2, 347-358

Abstract: The Hamiltonian version of the three dimensional q-state Potts model is studied by the block transformation method on triangular and square lattices. The transition is found to be of first order when the number q is larger than a critical value. The first order transition, however, is not controlled by a discontinuity fixed point.
