More detailed explication of a number fluctuation model generating 1ƒ pattern

Ferdinand Grüneis and Hans-J. Baiter

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1986, vol. 136, issue 2, 432-452

Abstract: Based on a previous paper a number fluctuation model, which generates 1ƒb spectral pattern (in particular 1ƒ pattern), is discussed in more detail. The model in question rests on the assumption of a doubly stochastic Poisson process combined with a distinct specification of the probability distribution of the numbers of single events contained in clusters of events. The intent of the paper is to present numerical and analytical information derived from the model and to point out details appropriate for checking the model against experimental findings.
