Abstract:
We have studied the relativistic surface states of a finite crystal by carrying out a relativistic generalization of Sokolov's model for non-relativistic surface state energy equation (RSEE), the existence condition relevant to RSEE, the forms of spinors, and relativistic probability density. We have also carried out some numerical analyses about the relativistic surface state energies and discussed them critically in the light of corresponding non-relativistic results. Lastly we have presented an analytic comparison between relativistic and non-relativistic probability densities.
