Abstract:
A full-blown consistency calculation-based either (i) on the explicit dynamical operator solutions of the Heisenberg equations, or alternatively (ii) on the operator Langevin equation-for a quantum oscillator interacting with an infinite thermal string yields the proper result that [ζ(t), p(t)] = ih̵ for all values of t = 0 given this value at t = 0, for all values of both the strength and the flexibility of the coupling between the particle and the field.
