Abstract:
A generalized mode-coupling theory of the hydrodynamic variable correlations in a nonconvective classical fluid where a large temperature gradient maintains a nonequilibrium steady state is presented. The light scattering spectrum of such a system is discussed. The results are equivalent to those of Kirkpatrick, Cohen and Dorfman but the present treatment is simpler and more straightforward.
