Abstract:
A procedure describing dynamic intermolecular interactions in the formalism of spherical tensors, by means of the Schrödinger perturbation theory with different gauge transformations, is proposed. A new form of the spherical interaction tensor, highly convenient in the interpretation of collision effects in light scattering, is derived. Static multipole moments and linear polarizabilities are shown to be applicable to the description of dynamic phenomena.
