Note on the electro-dilatometric effect

Abstract:
No theoretical explanation of the large change in volume found in Rappon's electro-dilatometric experiment (1985) has no far been given. The present note approaches the problem in terms of a model (beyond standard theory) for the molecules in which the molecular volume is allowed to change in an electric field.
