A generalized N-level single-mode Jaynes-Cummings model

Abstract: A quantum statistical model for the interaction of an N-level atom with a single-mode radiation field is presented. A complete system of eigenfunctions and eigenvalues is found. An application of this model to the investigation of photon antibunching and squeezing effects is also discussed.
