On statistical thermodynamics of multicomponent systems I

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1988, vol. 150, issue 3, 555-566

Abstract: The equivalent neighbour continuous (ENC) spin versions of the discrete D-vector and D-state Potts models in arbitrary external field for various anisotropies of interaction parameters are solved exactly. The ENC D-vector model and ENC D-component Potts model undergo first order phase transitions for D ⩾ 2 and D ⩾ 3 respectively and the magnitudes of the jump discontinuity in the order parameters are increasing functions of D. The associated phase diagrams are discussed and contrasted with those known for EN models of interacting discrete spins.
