Abstract:
The Rayleigh flow problem for a highly rarefied gas of a nonhomogeneous system of charged particles is investigated in the framework of kinetic theory of gases. The moments method with a two sided distribution function is used to solve the adopted BGK kinetic model. Approximate analytic solutions are obtained using Laplace's transform and the small parameter method. The dynamical and electro-magnetic behaviour of the gas is discussed.
