Wave propagation and inhomogeneous media: Beyond effective medium theories
Bernard Souillard
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1989, vol. 157, issue 1, 3-12
Abstract:
This talk will focus on various topics connected with wave propagation and inhomogeneous media. Their common factor is the impossibility to obtain a correct physical description within effective medium type theories: these problems cannot be tackled through an homogeneization of the medium.
