Abstract:
A slice of 3D metal-insulating mixture behaves like a 2D material when the correlation length is larger than its thickness, i.e. near the insulating-conducting transition. The experimental relation between the thickness and the critical filling factor is pointed out, by both electrical and optical measurements.
