Simulation of a cellular automat with an oriented bootstrap rule

J.A.M.S. Duarte

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1989, vol. 157, issue 3, 1075-1079

Abstract: The evolution of a cellular automat with a culling or bootstrap condition on the minimum number of neighbours for survival has been simulated. The introduction of an orientational constraint converts the lattice from isotropic to semidirected. Simulations of systems of up to 230 million sites are found to be compatible with a threshold value of p=0.966±0.01.
