Abstract:
The metal-insulator transition in two-dimensional disordered systems in the presence of spin-orbit coupling is discussed taking account of the localization correction to the spin-flip scattering rate. The problem is treated using self-consistent theory, and it is predicted that the metal-insulator transition takes place at a certain strength of the spin-orbit coupling.
