Abstract:
We consider three different lattice models (λ, λ′, t) of a collapsing branched polymer in which the collapse is driven by a near-neighbour contact fugacity. We describe some rigorous bounds for the temperature dependence of the reduced limiting free energy and compare these results with numerical estimates derived from exact enumeration data. From the specific heat, we estimate the cross-over exponent ∅ and conclude that all three contact models have the same exponent in both two and three dimensions. Our best estimates are ∅ ∼ 0.60 in two dimensions and ∅ ∼ 0.82 in three dimensions.
