Abstract:
We consider the thermodynamics of a two-dimensional Ising model in which the interaction energy of neighbouring spins can take n values (n levels). The dependence of the free energy of the system on the concentrations of various bonds is found on the assumption that they are not frozen. The phase diagram of the system is presented. The heat capacity is calculated at the phase transition temperature. For ci⪡1 the explicit expansion of the free energy is found in terms of powers of the concentrations. The interaction between bond defects is described.
