Abstract:
The direct linearization of the Davey-Stewartson equation (DS) (I and II in one formalism) is investigated. The applications are found in the calculation of solutions of the DS satisfying a non-zero boundary condition. It is shown that the direct linearization in a general form allows for the choice of a “reference”, and two such choices are considered in particular. Corresponding to the two references there result solutions with two types of non-zero boundary condition, one of them being (for DS I) of the dromion type.
