Some recent developments in the theory of replica symmetry breaking

Giorgio Parisi

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1992, vol. 185, issue 1, 316-321

Abstract: In this paper some of the recent developments in the general theory of replica symmetry breaking are discussed. The p-adic formulation of replica symmetry breaking is presented. A detailed study of the structure of the taxonomic tree of equilibrium states is discussed. We also discuss some new results on the properties of the lowest free energy equilibrium states obtained using an external symmetry breaking field.
