Topological maps on Ising spin networks

Abstract:
We study the formation of a topologically corrected representation of input signals. We use a network of Ising spins and update the external synapses, after network relaxation, according to local rules. There is no unphysiological “winner takes all” mechanism involved. For a two-dimensional input we demonstrate the formation of a topological map.
