Faxén theorems in elastostatics

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1992, vol. 190, issue 1, 49-62

Abstract: In this article, we consider the Cartesian force multipole moments induced in a spherical particle when being set into an elastic—both shearable and compressible—medium with a given static displacement field. We express those multipoles contributing to the scattered field outside the particle in terms of the gradients of the displacement field, using scattering coefficients involved in the solution of the scattering problem in this regime.
