A generic mechanism determining the fractality of basin boundary structures

Abstract: A simple prototype diffeomorphism containing a chaotically forced bistability is demonstrated to produce Weierstrass-function-like basin boundaries of self-affine, self-similar, and/or nowhere differentiable fractal structure, depending on two competing characteristic exponents.
