Abstract:
We show that the scaling theory for the symmetric spin glass is characterized by four independent exponents. These are the thermal exponents at zero temperature, y, and at criticality, yc, and the chaos exponents at zero temperature, ξ, and at criticality, ξc. The last one of these is new. In the asymmetric spin glass still other chaos exponents appear. The eigenoperator (in a statistical sense) of a chaos exponent is a random perturbation of the coupling constants at a fixed point of the renormalization group; we refer to it as a disorder perturbation. The chaos exponents may appear in physical quantities when variations of the thermodynamic parameters couple to disorder perturbations.
