Abstract:
In this paper a short summary of recent magnetotransport measurements on low dimensional electronic systems is presented. Starting with a discussion of the transition region between Hall plateaus in two-dimensional systems, an interpretation of the quantum Hall effect on the basis of one-dimensional edge channel transport is given. Finally, the zero-dimensional transport, realized by coupling a quantum dot with tunnel barriers to two electronic reservoirs, is discussed.
