Abstract:
Low-energy excitations in addition to regualr phonons are systemically detected in the low-temperature specific heat Cp of quasi-1D systems with a charge density wave. A characteristic manifestation of these excitations is a strongly time dependence of Cp: for time spans varying from 1 s to about 105 s Cp(t) can increase by more than one order of magnitude.
