Abstract:
In this work, we have carried out a carefully study of the α- and β-relaxations in poly(vinyl chloride) by combining dielectric spectroscopy and quasielastic neutron scattering. In addition to the α-relaxation we observed both, the classical β process and the fast process, by using, respectively, dielectric and neutron scattering techniques. However, our results indicate that both processes should be considered different in nature.
