Abstract:
The temperature dependencies of magnetizations in a spin-12 Ising thin film with spin-32 overlayers are examined by the use of the effective-field theory, in order to clarify the effects of surface single-ion anisotropy on them. A number of characteristic behaviors for their variations are obtained especially for negative values of the surface single-ion anisotropy.
