Abstract:
Examination of damage spreading offers analogies to thermodynamic properties of Ising models [A. Coniglio, L. de Arcangelis, H.J. Herrmann and N. Jan, Europhys. Lett. 8 (1989) 315]. We compare the size distribution of Coniglio-Klein Ising clusters with the distribution of cluster sizes in damage systems. In the case of Metropolis-Glauber dynamics and by distinguishing +- and -+ damage the critical exponents of damage clusters and Ising clusters are very close at Tc. Away from Tc no relationship between damage spreading and the Ising system can be found.
