Abstract: The random particle method for numerical solution of the Vlasov-Poisson-Fokker- Planck equations is computationally investigated. Techniques to increase computational speed and reduce stochastic variation for practical implementation of the random particle method are studied. An efficient energy- and momentum-conserving numerical scheme is described. The procedures and techniques are tested on several physical problems.
