On three new cluster variation approximations

Alessandro Pelizzola

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1994, vol. 211, issue 1, 107-123

Abstract: We discuss in some detail three new cluster variation approximations we used in a previous paper in connection with Padé approximants to investigate critical behaviour of classical spin models on various lattices. The approximations are applied to the Ising model on the simple cubic, face centered cubic, and semi-infinite simple cubic lattices. The natural iteration equations and estimates for the critical temperatures and for the range of validity of the approximations are given.
