Abstract:
Analytic results for periodic structures with partially absorbing boundary conditions are used to illustrate the difference between the diffusion coefficients for the cases when the surface relaxativity ϱ = 0 and ϱ ≠ 0. The macroscopic diffusion coefficient, obtained in an ideal NMR experiment in the long time limit, equals that derived from the electrical conductivity only when ϱ = 0 and the surface electrical conductivity vanishes.
