Computer simulation of colloid-polymer mixtures

Abstract: We present results of a computer simulation study of a simple model for a colloid dispersed in a dilute polymer solution. The study aims to investigate the role of entropy in such mixtures. We have computed the polymer-induced interaction, the phase behaviour, and the local structure of the colloidal component, and determined the dependence of these properties on the polymer-colloid size ratio.
