Pattern formation in reaction-electrodiffusion systems with variable diffusivities and reaction rates

Abstract:
The investigation of reaction-electrodiffusion systems has been extended recently to the case of concentration- and/or position-dependent diffusion and reaction rates [1–3]. Conditions for the emergence of ionic dissipative structures in systems with constant parameters could be simply generalized for state dependence. The basic concepts as well as their application to binary and ternary ionic model reaction systems in heterogeneous media are presented here.
