Time dependent behaviour of third-order electric polarisation in a.c. reorienting field in molecular liquids

Władysław Alexiewicz and Hanna Derdowska-Zimpel

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1995, vol. 214, issue 1, 9-22

Abstract: Time evolution curves of the change in nonlinear electric polarisation induced by a cosine field are theoretically calculated with the Smoluchowski-Debye molecular rotational diffusion equation. Graphs show the dynamics of the third-order electric polarisation versus the parameter R, defining the balance between the dipolar and anisotropically polarisable properties of the molecules.
