Existence of cross-over states in electronic transmission due to delta-function potential with inhomogeneous and slowly varying periods

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1995, vol. 216, issue 1, 45-58

Abstract: Electronic transmission in a slowly varying delta-function potential V(χ) = ΣnVnδ(χ−χn) (where Vn = λcos(2πnγQ)) with inhomogeneous period exhibits the novel feature of re-entrant localization through the cross-over states. Indication of intermediate non-decaying or slowly decaying states present in between extended and localised states at different energies are some of the additional features reported in this paper. A multifractal analysis for the normalised transmittance has been used to characterise the different types of states obtained in this model.
