Abstract:
We study the delocalisation of electronic states in a correlated disorder potential in the form of the Kronig-Penny model. Our results are compatible with the other works claiming a band of Bloch-like extended states for large system sizes. We have made a clear physical distinction between the extended states forming the band and the resonant structures observed in the transmittance peaks away from the band by doing Argand map study for the phase of the wavefunction and its multifractal scaling analysis. We believe this work resolves the recent controversies regarding the nature of transmitting states in the correlated disorder models.
