Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1996, vol. 229, issue 3, 563-573

Abstract: The spin-32 Blume-Emery-Griffiths model is studied using the effective field theory based on the use of a probability distribution that correctly accounts for the single site kinematic relations. The phase diagrams of the model on a square lattice are obtained.
