Quantum and classical dynamics for a pulsed nonlinear oscillator

W. Leoński

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1996, vol. 233, issue 1, 365-378

Abstract: We discuss a system comprising an anharmonic oscillator (nonlinear Kerr medium) driven by a series of ultra-short coherent pulses. Assuming that the system was initially in the vacuum state, we compare the classical and quantum dynamics for that system. We refer our results to those concerning nonlinear oscillator driven by quadratic pulses. Moreover, we discuss the influence of the type of initial conditions on the classical results obtained.
