Trapping kinetics in diffusion-limited bimolecular reactions sources within the Galanin model

Abstract: We have introduced the effect of particle sources within a previously developed model of diffusion-limited bimolecular reactions. We have considered two kinds of sources: extended and point-like ones in the case of a trapping process by fixed traps. We have studied not only the asymptotic behaviour but the whole time regime as well, in the case of a single trap. Also the short and long time regime in a system of an infinite number of periodically located traps has been studied. The comparison with simulations shows that both theoretical regimes yield a rather good agreement indicating that the description is adequate for the whole time regime.
